The Memstar System is a diversely capable technology, and able to provide a tailored service that can solve a diverse range of issues with wine production – those being: alcohol reduction services and alcohol correction, volatile acidity reduction, Brettanomyces and smoke taint removal, as well as flavour concentration services.
Memstar involves a unique reverse osmosis process that separates the wine to be treated into a concentrate and permeate. The permeate can then be treated through a choice of specially designed filters to correct or remove undesirable components, and finally be recombined with the concentrate. The closed-loop system design means that the wine can be separated, treated, and recombined as many times as required.
