We also operate a state-of-the-art vacuum distillation unit for total alcohol removal at our Nuriootpa, South Australia site.

The Position 

The role is full-time and, starting at 7am, reports directly to the Workshop Supervisor and will be located at VAF Memstar’s modern Barossa facility. 

VAF Memstar runs a small, dynamic operations team, and the Stainless Steel Fabricator is part of this unit.  Due to the nature of operations, the successful candidate may need to work additional hours to meet the demands of peak periods. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Hands-on fabrication and contract management of equipment fabrication. 

• Stainless steel TIG welding. 

• Use hand and power tools, cutting equipment and other workshop tools. 

• Scheduled and breakdown maintenance of key fixed and mobile equipment. 

• Modification and upgrade of existing equipment. 

• Implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. 

• Involvement with design and improvement of all plant and equipment. 

• Fault finding and troubleshooting. 

Essential & Desired Qualifications: 

• A trade certificate in metal-related trades is essential. 

• Three to five years of experience working in steel fabrication and proficiency in most types of welding, with excellent skills in the TIG welding of stainless steel and MIG (optional). 

• Ability to manage your time in line with required priorities.  

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

• High level of attention to detail. 

• Current driver and forklift license. MR license is desirable.
