We also operate a state-of-the-art vacuum distillation unit for total alcohol removal at our Nuriootpa, South Australia site.

The Position
We have an exciting opportunity for a technically-minded individual to work in a dynamic team environment. VA Filtration and Memstar require the services of a “hands-on” Operator for its fee-for-service and equipment rental business in South Australia.
The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and successful completion of service and rental contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Operations Manager in the completion of contracts and operating plant and materials in a timely and efficient manner.
- Operation and maintenance of plant and materials in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures to provide a safe working environment.
- Ensuring customer service contract requirements are completed as specified.
- Preparing and maintaining operations documentation in full as required.
- Promoting and explaining the VA Filtration and Memstar technology and implementation to clients.
- Generation of new fee-for-service, rental and sales enquiries.
- Occasional periods of travel to the wine regions of South Australia and Victoria, with some travel to NSW when required.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have a background in the wine industry and be familiar with cellar operations and have a strong capability for independent operation and maintenance of advanced equipment.
Essential & Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a plant operator.
- The ability to work effectively in difficult, isolated and emergency situations.
- Extended periods away from home is a prerequisite, up to 1-2 weeks at a time.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Forklift licence, Medium Rigid Truck Licence and a current First Aid Certificate are preferable, not essential.
Location: Important the successful candidate is Barossa-based.
Appropriate salary, laptop, mobile phone and internet will be provided. A tool of trade vehicle is included.
